Instead of banning the private insurance companies and replacing them with an unaccountability monopoly from the same folks that bring us the USPS and this, why not turn the insurance companies into nonprofits? And then allow them to compete across state borders? That would solve a lot.
DMarks-I 100% agree. Making the medical insurance market into a regulated utility, like power or water, (and like Internet and TV should be) would remove a whole lot of problems from the current system.
