Kucinich Impeachment Resolution

The title links to Dennis Kucinich's resolution to impeach George W. Bush.

It's not going to pass, because Congress is made of spineless weaklings. I'm not even sure that it would help. But, as Keith Olbermann puts it, there is something to be said for putting this on the record, so that, 100 years from now, assuming there is a human race, they will know that someone knew.

  1. I actually saw part of this. A woman reading it into the Congressional record, I think, on c-span.

The particular section being read was about Bush replacing judges with his own appointees. Not mentioned is that the Constitution allows this particular thing, and all the previous presidents had done it.

  2. Well, actually it was about US attorneys being replaced, not judges.

And when attorneys are replaced, not because of a change in administrations, but because of a failure to follow Executive Branch dictates to harass Democrats and ignore Republicans, that constitutes an abuse of power in my book. Furthermore, ignoring Congressional subpoenas to answer questions about such dismissals invokes a gross abuse of power.
