Game Eight: Not So Great

Dice K pitches one inning, leaves suffering from "arm fatigue", after allowing 5 runs.

Lovely.

Team battles back to a 5-5 tie in frigid, downright Bostonian weather conditions.

Excellent.

Bullpen combines for ten exhausting shutout innings.

Splendid.

Oakland's Travis Buck hits a 12th inning bases loaded single to win the game 6-5.

Outstanding.

Boston falls to 2-6 on the year, sending Tim Wakefield to the hill this afternoon with an exhausted bullpen and Nick Green your shortstop.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2009 Boston Red Sox!

Going to be a long year, folks.

Well, Wake was great.....Green made the catch of the day....amazing how things can turn in the span of a few hours.

  2. Oh, I know.

I called him out from the barber chair-"No way we get a complete game today. I mean, it's not IMPOSSIBLE, but...no way."

So let me just say, for the record-"NO WAY we win 16 games in a row. No way. It's not impossible. But....no way."
