Game 86: And everybody knew you didn't give no lip to Big Jon

At Fenway tonight, big Jon Lester stood on the wall and said nobody was going to hurt us tonight, not on his watch. Throwing 115 pitches, Jon Lester threw 8 shutout frames, handing it off to the Lord of the Dance to make Dustin Pedroia's 6th inning RBI double stand up in a 1-0 lead.

  1. Actually, the MVP's RBI double came with 2 outs in the 8th, but it was a big hit either way in a 0-0 game.

Of course, this was after Derryl "have you seen the blind man" Cousins called Ellsbury out at the plate in the 5th and then sent him to an early shower 'cause Ells threw his helmet to the ground.

I have been singing the praises of Lester for a long time. I am glad to see him do well, especially considering what he has gone through.

  2. Thank you for the correction, Sir Paul. I must have been bleary eyed after a long day at work.

  3. And are you, too, sick of umpires and their attitudes? I think even our old friend ManRam got a raw deal on his ejection.
