There's a chain of restaurants, I think just throughout northern New England, called the Common Man Restaurant. I was there in Lincoln, NH, and they had hundreds of old ads and magazines, and I must have spent 45 minutes going through them. I didn't buy any, but it was a blast just looking.
I remember tearing through some National Geographics from the 1930s and 1940s at a church rummage sale once, and just being fascinated by the advertisements.
Oh how funny that they equated being fit and trim with cigarettes. What a hoot!
