So Now We Have A President...

...If We Can Elect Him.

In the same sort of anticlimax involved in a team that is 13 games in front finally clinching the division, Barack Obama is now officially the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States.

I don't know why you could possibly believe that the current band of malcontented power mad lunatics deserve four more years to bring America closer and closer to the abyss of irrelevance.

"The real power in America is held by a fast emerging new oligarchy of pimps and preachers who see no need for Democracy or fairness or even trees, except maybe the ones in their own yards, and they dont mind admitting it. They worship money and power and death. Their ideal solution to all the nation's problems would be another 100 year war."

  1. I have no idea why either side needs to waste all that money on conventions. Could they not put all of that money to better use? Instead of monster TVs and worrying about what color a pant suit is why not dump some of that effort into something important? We all know what both sides are doing candidate-wise, why bother with the dog and pony show?

  2. Without a doubt. Like I said, with a 10 game lead and 11 to play, the outcome is more or less preordained-only a complete, catastrophic collapse will change anything, but because it's not actually a done deal, we have to say words like "presumptive".

    Massive waste of time.

  3. Not only that, but the Federal Government spends many millions on both conventions. I think any government spending on the political process (other than everything necessary to do the actual votes) is a total waste.

  4. government can utilise the money in some important enhancements either than to misguide public for voting them.

  5. I do applaud Obama for refusing the direct taxpayer infusion into his campaign ("public financing"). I think that is the last thing that government should spend money on: influencing and corrupting democracy itself.
