Really?

A GOP talking head says we should be "outraged" that Barack Obama took his campaign plane to visit his dying grandmother, instead of questioning the halfwit's $150K of clothing expenses.

No comment required, really.

  1. Perhaps the talking head is claiming that the Hawaii thing is wrong since it is not campaign related (unless of course he campaigns in Hawaii... and I hope he spends time with Grandma instead). I wonder how much it costs? But whatever it is, it is likely a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of building a temple-of-the-gods in Denver.

I read the Huffington Post entry (even the foaming-at-the-mouth hate comments). But they do have a point that he needs a plane for the secret service and other stuff.

The $150,000 wardrobe thing, near as I can tell, was entirely campaign-related.

It's not the best calling someone a "halfwit" just because they aren't in your political party.

  2. I don't call her a halfwit because she's a Republican. I call her a halfwit because she's a halfwit.

She said that a McCain/Palin administration would fully fund programs to help disabled children by cutting programs like research on fruit fly genes...which scientists use to learn about how best to treat disabled children.

Halfwit isn't fair, though, you're probably right. That was mean.

Incurious, petulant, and willfully ignorant, maybe.

  3. I'm thankful she wants to fully fund IDEA and helping disabled research. The issue just has not been on the radar before in a national presidential election.

But yes she was wrong on the fruit-fly thing.

She could get the funding for it by holding the line on tax increases like Obama's (which clobber small businesses and encourage people not to invest). Business growth means a growing economy which means more tax revenues coming in.

  4. Ah yes, the Laffer curve.

Taking in less tax revenue means taking in more tax revenue.

    Of course it does.

  5. The last thing the economy needs is unnecessary and punitive tax hikes. This holds for Obama's tax hikes, and McCain's plan to tax health care benefits.

A President Obama won't necessarily have his way, nor would a President McCain. Hopefully some of these bad ideas get shot down.

  6. You're right of course-to a certain extent, no matter what each man promises, what eventually happens will be up to Congress.
