War

Pap closed it out, of course. Very high quality win for us.

"There's never been a true war that wasn't fought between two sets of people who were certain they were in the right. The really dangerous people believe that they are doing whatever they are doing solely and only because it is without question the right thing to do."

-Neil Gaiman

  1. I think that a true thought. And I'll tell you that I've never been that committed to any idea for the same reasons. Shutting out the possiblity, the probability that you have missed something, that there are alternative suggestions, that the world is round leads to tragic ends. For this reason, I am probably not the person you want for quick decisions, but I work well on a debate team.

  2. Indeed.

I have often thought that it can be a horrible burden to have intelligence, to be able to understand the point of view and arguments of those who oppose us.

How much simpler everything must be if you can just believe everything you are told.

  3. We were taught very early on that dying for an idea, one we shared, made heroes. Dead heroes, but martyrs for the cause nonetheless. Unless their basic ideals differed with ours. Those dead folks we called terrorists.

Dogma is bunk. Perspective is everything.

  4. As always, Goddess, your wisdom stuns we mortals.
