They better be....

http://bit.ly/wWlAO

Rob Neyer, who is smarter than me, says that Josh Beckett and Jon Lester have just been unlucky this year-balls have been falling for hits that are not really their fault. With the Newly Recharged Yankees coming to town (Now With 100% More ARod!), I bloody well hope he's right.

  1. Well, Beckett certainly has been better over his last 3 to 4 starts and Lester has been better in his last 2 starts (certainly his last one, for sure).

With that said, I tend to agree with Neyer somewhat. Neither has looked really bad this season. I'm not sure I totally buy the 'they are hitting 'em where they ain't' defense. Early in the season, both guys seemed to suffer one bad inning per start, but they both seem to have corrected that.

At least it's better than Brad Penny's 'Julio Lugo sucks, that's why I gave up a 3-run homer' defense.
