Interesting George Will column, recasting the old political question, are you better off now than you were four years ago?
Am I?
CON:
I make more money now. I hate my job more now. My health is worse now, at least partially due, I think, to the stress of the job that makes the more money. I feel less in control now. I have more debt now. George Bush is still president of the United States.
PRO:
My nephew Simon is here now. The Red Sox have won two World Championships, the first in my lifetime, since four years ago. The Celtics and Patriots have also brought home titles in that time. I have wireless Internet now. George Bush will soon not be president of the United States.
I don't know.

It's an interesting question...yes? So, I'll sport it the way you did.
ReplyDeletePros: I live close to a job that I have loved, which means I don't spend a lot on gas getting to work. I have evolved into a less isolated girl, thereby allowing more ideas into my life. I make more money than I did four years ago. I feel more challenged than I did four years ago. I like myself more than I did four years ago. More self-acceptance.
Cons: Gas prices cost an arm and a leg...so if I lived far from work I would be forced to quit my job because I couldn't afford it. Needing people sucks. Even though I make more money, my debt stays about the same. I am sometimes stressed to the point of passing out by my challenging job. I feel different but most folks treat me the same.
Ditto on EVERYTHING Bush. :)
Amen to that.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add: We're all four years older now. I find it hard to believe that is anything but a con.
